Grossmont Union High School District
Content Standards

Introduction

This document is not intended to recommend what should be taught in any particular course or at any grade level. It deals with learning goals--what students should remember, understand, and be able to do after they have left school as a residue of their total school experience--and not with how to organize the curriculum to achieve them. In other words, these standards do not describe a full and comprehensive academic program nor do they prescribe the kinds of experiences students will need to develop a good understanding of a subject.

Codes

After each content standard, you will notice a series of codes, such as G1, F2, C3. (For more information, see the list of codes on the last page of this document.) The "G" stands for Grossmont Union High School Graduation Goals, "F" for Foundation Skills, and "C" for Workplace Competencies. The codes after the content standards indicate which goals, skills, and competencies each standard meets.
